LiquidBox Setup Guide

What you need:

• Your LiquidBox with its power supply
• A free port on your router and an Ethernet cable
• A computer or phone in the same network

1. Connect the cables

• Plug the Ethernet cable into the LiquidBox and into your router. A wired connection keeps the node in sync without dropouts.
• Connect the power supply.

2. Switch on and wait two minutes

• Press the power button once. The node boots and starts its services; give it about two minutes.

3. Open umbrelOS

• On a computer or phone in the same network open umbrel.local in the browser.
• If the name does not resolve, look up the IP address of the LiquidBox in your router and open it in the browser instead.

4. Create your account

• Choose a name and a password for the node. There is no reset link: keep the password somewhere safe.
• umbrelOS then shows the dashboard with the Bitcoin node already installed.

5. Let the node sync

• The node now downloads and verifies the whole Bitcoin blockchain. Depending on your connection this takes a few days. The progress is shown in the Bitcoin app.
• Leave the LiquidBox running; the sync continues after a restart where it stopped.

Next: mine to your own node

Once the node is synced, install a pool app from the umbrelOS app store, for example Public Pool. It gives you a local stratum address. Enter that address as the pool in the settings of your Bitaxe, NerdAxe or NerdQAxe, and the miner works against your own node, without a third party in between.

Good to know

✅ Keep it on the wire. The node needs a stable connection around the clock; Ethernet beats Wi-Fi here.
✅ Updates come through the umbrelOS settings; the apps update from the app store.
