The NerdQX is the air-cooled four-chip miner with the most hashrate in our range: four BM1370 chips under a tower heatsink, a 120 mm fan at the front and a 90 mm fan at the back, around 8 TH/s at about 140 W. It stands upright on its own base, shows its values on a colour display and runs AxeOS, the open-source firmware you set up in a browser.
NerdQX or another four-chip miner?
The NerdQX uses the same four BM1370 chips as the NerdQAxe++. The larger cooler lets it run them at a higher operating point: two thirds more hashrate than the NerdQAxe++ from one device, for twice its power draw, which makes each terahash slightly less efficient. The table shows the data sheet values; which one suits you:

Running cost
A month has about 720 hours, so 140 W around the clock come to about 101 kWh. At 0.30 EUR per kWh that is roughly 30 EUR a month; for your own tariff, multiply 101 kWh by your price per kWh. Setup and firmware
The NerdQX runs AxeOS, the open-source firmware of the NerdQAxe and NerdOctaxe boards, and sets up the same way: power on, join the Wi-Fi network the miner opens, enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and your Bitcoin address. Pool, worker name, frequency and voltage are fields in the browser afterwards; the stock settings are made for continuous running. Every step with pictures: NerdQAxe++ setup guide.
Placement and power
- The device stands upright on its own base. Air enters at the front and leaves at the back, so keep both sides clear; a closed cupboard traps the heat.
- The colour display on the front shows hashrate, temperature, power and your best share so far.
- The power supply (12.4 V / 20 A) and a quick start guide are in the box. One cable for power, the network connection is Wi-Fi.

21 Aug 2026La configuración fue rápida en mi caso. En NerdQX valoro sobre todo la caja cerrada en lugar de una placa abierta; la pantalla a color en el frontal también fue una razón para elegirlo. Lo veo más como infraestructura Bitcoin que como una máquina de rentabilidad.
Frequently asked questions
Is 38 dB quiet?
It is about the level of a quiet conversation in the next room, or a desktop computer under light load. You will hear it in a silent bedroom and you will not hear it in an office.
How does it compare with the NerdQAxe++ Hydro?
Both are four chip devices. The NerdQX cools with air and reaches around 8 TH/s at 140 W. The Hydro cools with water at a lower clock, around 6 TH/s at 100 W, and is quieter. Pick the QX for output, the Hydro for silence.
Can I run it in a cupboard?
Only with airflow. The cooling depends on cool air reaching the front and warm air leaving the back. A closed cupboard will heat up and the device will reduce its clock.
