An older chip, six of them, and a price that reflects it.
The trade you are making
The BM1368 came before the BM1370. It needs about 21.4 J/TH where the newer chip manages around 15, so every terahash costs you more electricity. In exchange you get six of them on one board for the price of a two chip device: 4.2 TH/s for the outlay of a much smaller miner. Whether that is the right trade depends entirely on what you pay for power.
When it makes sense
- You want the most lottery tickets for a fixed budget and your electricity is cheap.
- You have solar and the daytime surplus would otherwise go to the grid for very little.
- You want the heat anyway, in a workshop or a hallway in winter.
When it does not
If you pay a high tariff and plan to run the board around the clock, a Bitaxe Gamma or the NerdAxe Gaia will cost you less per terahash over a year, even though they cost more to buy. We would rather you knew that before ordering.
Same firmware, same handling
Six chips change nothing about the setup. AxeOS opens a Wi-Fi network, you enter your own network and your Bitcoin address, and the board starts hashing. The Bitaxe setup guide walks through it.

Frequently asked questions
Why is an older chip still worth buying?
Because you are paying for hashrate, and six older chips deliver more of it per euro than two new ones. The catch is efficiency: at 21.4 J/TH the board uses roughly 40 percent more electricity per terahash than a BM1370 device. With cheap power that is a good deal, with expensive power it is not.
How loud is it?
Louder than a single chip Bitaxe. Ninety watts through an air cooled heatsink means the fan runs noticeably. It belongs in a hallway or a workshop rather than next to a bed.
Does it run the same AxeOS as the other boards?
Yes. Same firmware, same browser interface, same pool settings. If you have set up any Bitaxe before, this one will be familiar.
