Buy a NerdMiner in Europe

The NerdMiner is where many people take their first step into Bitcoin solo mining. It runs on an ESP32 chip, draws about 1 W and connects to your home Wi-Fi in minutes. No ASIC and no loud fan: a small open-source device that shows you how mining works. Shipped from our EU warehouse.

What a NerdMiner is, and what it is not

A NerdMiner has no mining chip. Its ESP32 microcontroller computes the hashes itself, at around 250 KH/s. A Bitaxe Gamma does more than 5 million times as much. The chance that a NerdMiner finds a block is therefore tiny, and the honest name for it is a lottery ticket on your desk.

What you get in return: a real miner that talks to a real pool, a colour display with its mining statistics, and almost no electricity, well under 1 kWh a month.

The NerdMiner V4 is the current NerdMiner V2: the same open-source ESP32 board in a case with a colour display. The NerdMiner Quattro is no longer stocked.

Who it is for

  • Beginners who want to understand pools, shares and difficulty before they buy an ASIC miner.
  • Anyone who wants a piece of Bitcoin on the desk that costs almost nothing to run.
  • Gifts: the NerdMiner V4 comes in six case colours and arrives fully assembled.

Setup and power

The miner opens its own Wi-Fi network called NerdMinerAP. You connect, enter your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi and your Bitcoin address, and it starts mining on public-pool.io. The NerdMiner Setup Guide shows every screen. Pool list, ports and how to change the pool: NerdMiner pool settings. Power comes over USB-C from a 5 V supply; a weak phone charger causes random restarts. A spare NerdMiner Power Cable is in our accessories.
