Avalon miners are built by Canaan, who have made ASIC miners since 2013. Unlike the open-source boards in the rest of our range they arrive as sealed appliances: housing, power supply, app, nothing to assemble. The Nano 3s delivers 6 TH/s and runs at 33 dB in quiet mode.

Everything else in our range runs AxeOS, open firmware you can read and tune. The Avalon Nano 3s takes the other road: you set it up in the manufacturer app, frequency and voltage are fixed, and it starts on the first try.
- Hashrate: 6 TH/s from twelve 4 nm chips.
- Power: about 140 W, around 100 kWh a month. At about 23.3 J/TH it is less efficient than a current BM1370 board at around 15 J/TH.
- Noise: 33 dB in quiet mode, 38 dB in normal mode.
- Power supply: one USB-C supply (28 V / 5 A), one cable to the wall.
Who it suits
The Nano 3s is for people who want hashrate at home without touching a setting, and who can use the warmth: in winter its 140 W heat the room it stands in. If you want to learn how mining works, change settings or read the code, take a Bitaxe or a NerdAxe instead. The NerdQX, for example, delivers around 8 TH/s at the same 140 W.
