Who is behind Bitaxe
Bitaxe started as an open-source project by the developer known as @skot9000. Schematics, board files and the firmware AxeOS are published, so anyone can study, build or improve a Bitaxe. AxeOS now also runs on the NerdAxe family, and many of today's home miners build on that work.
The best-known moment of the project came in July 2024, when a Bitaxe found block 853742. Our article A 500 GH/s Bitaxe Found a Bitcoin Block tells the story.
The Bitaxe range in our store
Nerdminer Store is listed on the official Bitaxe vendor list at bitaxe.org/buy. Every Bitaxe here is a genuine open-source board, shipped from our EU warehouse.
- Bitaxe Gamma: one BM1370, 1.3 TH/s at 17 W. The model most people start with.
- Bitaxe 801 and Bitaxe 702: two and six chips on one board, 2.15 and 4.2 TH/s.
- Bitaxe Gamma Copper Pro, Bitaxe Gamma Performance and Bitaxe Performance Stage 2: stronger cooling for tuning, up to 2 TH/s.
- Upgrade Kit Stage 1, Upgrade Kit Stage 2 and the Bitaxe Performance Case: cooling and housing for a Bitaxe you already own.
What every Bitaxe has in common
Every Bitaxe is set up in the browser: join its Wi-Fi, enter your home network and your Bitcoin address, done. No app, no account, no extra software. The Bitaxe Setup Guide covers all models. A buying comparison by hashrate, power and noise is on the Bitaxe category page.
