Same chip as the Gaia, more copper, more hashrate.

The NerdAxe Gaia Pro delivers the most hashrate we ship from a single chip: around 3 TH/s at about 33 W, roughly 11 J/TH, straight out of the box. It is built on the Gaia board with the same BM1373, and what sets it apart sits on top of that chip: the AXP60 Copperzilla cooler with 210 g of copper, two heat pipes and a 60 mm PWM fan, mounted at the factory.

What the Pro changes

A mining chip turns almost all of the power it draws into heat, and how fast that heat gets away decides how hard the chip can work. The standard Gaia cools its BM1373 with a heatsink and a 40 mm fan. On the Pro the copper block takes the heat off the chip, the two heat pipes carry it into the fins and the larger fan pushes it out. With that headroom the chip comes set to a higher clock than on the Gaia, so the extra hashrate is there from the first minute, without you touching frequency or voltage.

Everything else is the Gaia: the ESP32-S3, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, USB-C and the 1.9-inch colour display with the live figures of the miner. The Pro runs NerdOS, which you open in a browser on your home network.

The Pro gives you about 15 percent more hashrate for about a third more power, so each terahash costs a little more electricity. At around 11 J/TH it is still more efficient than every BM1370 board we sell; only the Gaia itself does better.

Cooling and noise

The Pro produces more heat than the Gaia, and it also has a much larger cooler to get rid of it. A 60 mm fan moves more air per turn than a 40 mm fan, so it can keep the chip in range at a calmer speed than a small fan would need. It is PWM controlled and follows the chip temperature. We have not measured a noise level for the Gaia Pro and therefore publish none. It is a desk device with an audible fan, not a silent one.

What it costs to run

Electricity is the only running cost, and the sum is short: watts × hours ÷ 1,000 × your price per kilowatt hour. Running around the clock, a month has about 720 hours, so 33 W come to 23.76 kWh a month. At 0.30 EUR per kWh, used here purely as an example, that is about 7.13 EUR a month or around 86 EUR a year. Next to a Gaia, the eight extra watts of the Pro add about 1.73 EUR a month at the same example tariff. Take the price from your own bill; across Europe it varies by a factor of two or more.

Who the Pro is for

Choose the Gaia Pro if you want the most hashrate a single BM1373 delivers from the factory and would rather let a large copper cooler do the work than tune frequency and voltage yourself. It is also the more relaxed choice for a warm room, where a small cooler reaches its limit sooner.

The standard NerdAxe Gaia is enough if your electricity price matters more to you than the last bit of hashrate: it stays the most efficient miner we sell. For the smallest start in the family there is the NerdAxe Gamma with a BM1370, and if one chip is no longer enough, the NerdQAxe++ with four chips is the next step. Copper as the answer to heat is also the idea behind the Bitaxe Copperzilla, a single BM1370 under solid copper.

Pre-order: shipping from 7 November 2026

The Gaia Pro is available to pre-order now, and we ship from 7 November 2026. It arrives assembled with the cooler mounted, together with the 12 V / 6 A power supply, the stand and a quick start guide.
