The NerdQAxe Performance Case is an open frame for the boards of the NerdQAxe family, including the NerdQAxe++. Honeycomb panels cover the board edges, the underside and the area around the connectors; the heatsink side stays open. The display stays visible and the power and USB-C connectors stay reachable with the case fitted.
Why an open frame
A four-chip board like the NerdQAxe++ draws about 70 W, and that power leaves the board as heat. Solid walls would keep the warm air around the board. The honeycomb panels protect it from fingers and loose cables and still let the air through, so intake and exhaust work the way the board was designed.
What it covers and what stays free
- Covered: board edges, underside and the area around the connectors, where accidental contact usually happens.
- Open: the heatsink side, so the fan can draw in and push out air freely.
- Reachable: display, power input and USB-C port. You do not have to take the case apart to read a value or change a cable.
Case and stand
The case protects the board; it does not stand it upright. For that there is the NerdQAxe Stand in versions for the NerdQAxe++ and the NerdQAxe+. Both are printed in PETG, which keeps its shape at higher temperatures than PLA. Mounting screws come with the case.

Frequently asked questions
Does the case cost me hashrate?
It is not meant to: the panels are honeycomb and the heatsink side stays open, so the airflow the board was designed around stays intact. A closed case would be a different story.
Which boards does it fit?
The NerdQAxe family. Bitaxe and NerdAxe boards have their own cases with different dimensions.
Can I use it together with the stand?
Yes. The case gives the board its protection, the stand holds the whole thing upright.
